We spent today in Napa, with great wines and a most memorable meal at the Greystone's CIA (Culinary Institute of America) ... if I don't fall off the rower tonight (or, shades of Kiba, fall asleep in the rower), I'll be surprised. I'm thinking that my "reason to row" is closely linked to balancing food and wine intake ...

I can relate...

Post by Kona2 » October 5th, 2009, 7:53 pm

And your feet were probably still strapped in.......I can relate to this! When I first went to clip in pedals on the bike, I "forgot" that I was clipped in and leaned the bike towards the clipped in side - at the start line of the Elephant Rock bike ride. I took out two other bikes, and was really embarrassed....and, of course, you can't get your feet loose right away....

Buckle your seatbelts, mates, we're headed to the moon!

Barb,

I heard confession is good for the soul. So here goes. This week-end while watching the Notre Dame game I tried to avoid a QB sack and nearly fell off the erg. But, that's not all, it happened 2 more on passes into the end zone.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is, you are in some very good company. Kiba, Jan and I, probably more funny stories out there if they would just fess up.

Last spring, I was having one of those days when you're going to end up with a pretty good time for a particular distance. Well I needed to scootch up on the seat a little bit. Rather than stop, while pushing back I kind jumped a little bit and the seat went out from underneath me and I came down square on the rail. Needless to same I didn't end up with that great time that day.

There was that time not too long ago when I fell asleep while erging, and then while in the middle of sleep erging having a dream about erging at the bus stop at school.

Then there was that other time when my dog hit my in the side of the head with his bone.

I think the most embaressing thing I do though, is sometimes when I get really tired, my legs fall out of sync and decide they aren't going to row anymore, but my hands keep rowing and I hit my knees pretty hard with the handle.

Oh, there is definitely a side string here ... "funny things that have happened to me on the erg." I wonder how we could keep a list for posterity.

I can relate to that one...my only ERG story is the funnel web spider, kind of glad I was strapped in as he walked on by!
