That's hillarious. I wonder who thought that one up. The rest of the world must think we are wacko.

Ahoy,Mateys,
Arrgh, the TimBuk and the Sub7 have gained the weather gauge on Looney. We'll have to pull hard, give no quarter, go gunnel to gunnel,
repel boarders, and buckle some swashes to capture this prize.

Tomorrow, We talks like a Pirate!
Slow and Steady is my pace, so it seems,
Slow and Steady wins the race, in my dreams.

rower of the day

Post by Calamity » September 19th, 2008, 2:07 am

Anyone check out that cute rower of the day? Debbie called me at work and said log on the c2 and check her out.

We have been celebrating talk like a pirate day for years after learn of it on NPR. Check out the skull comment several posts back in August for our preparation for the day.

hey dr dan

Post by Calamity » September 20th, 2008, 1:46 am

Dan, does adding a title in your name help you to row more? Other than any of our actual titles - I actually have one - should we be adding space themed ones like Commander Tudury or Jedi Jan? Or pirate ones like captain Jack Huurman or first-mate Darryl?
All joking aside, great rowing - way to use that new machine!

That is just for FRC (first to 200K) so that Kong Chuan Goh, Dr knows he not be messin' any ordinary Buccanneer. Oh, talk like a pirate day is over, sorry. I got up early today to see if I could sneak past Kong and get to 200,000 first. But alas when I went to Standings he was already there. I guess that's ok now I don't have to row 35 K today.

Jan - negative on the HM for me. I know you can't tell if the numbers are cumulative, but after I'd posted last night, I saw I was pretty darned close to 4 million lifetime meters ... so I sat back down again!

Jeanne - when on earth do you get the chance to spend time on the rower? With the numbers that Dan's been posting, it looks like he's been hogging that baby, 24/7!
