Hi everyone,
I'm a bit behind schedule in posting this "introduction" but I noticed there were a couple of other stragglers too so figured I would anyway.
Basic BIO:I'm 39 (HWFemale) Canadian born but living in Chattanooga TN since 1995. (Job related move...I'm a family practice MD-when I'm not rowing or erging)Married,(Jim-coach  ), 3 children- 5y old twins and a 20m old.
I've been rowing since 1983. In fact I just spent 6 weeks in Canada this summer racing, and got back home to TN only two weeks ago. Limited access to a computer while up there contributed to my low profile until now.I have done "conventional" rowing over the years but my #1 love is a unique Regatta held in St.John's NFLD,my home town, each summer. We row in a 6 man fixed seat racing shell. It's the oldest continuous sporting event in North America(183 years), steeped in history, attended by 130+ crews and 40,000+ spectators. It's a real blast.
Like a lot of us, I erg in the off season. I've competed off and on since 1999. (between babies). PB for 2k 7:06 done last year. (Crash B 2003,2004,2006-5th,3rd and 4th place finishes in 30-39HW respectively)
This past few weeks just transitioning back from water to more erg.
Not sure where all this will end up this fall but at least we'll all be in shape!Looking forward to it. Siobhan Duff

Name: John Preston
Age: 40
Reside: Westfield, NJ

Hello, I am John Preston, MHW, 6'4", 240lbs. I am married to an occasional erger; we have twin boys (14), a daughter (13), and a son(8). I row on a model B with an updated PM2+ monitor.

Eriging background: I began erging in the late 80's, when I purchased my model B. I took many years off (children/grad school) and started back on the erg in April 2004 because my weight had ballooned up to 325lbs. I have never trained for racing, just to lose weight. I tried a few area competitions and won my age group so I decided that this year I would concentrate on training and maybe have some faster 2K times. My 2K best is 6:15 set at the Passaic River Rowing Association's (PRRA) St. Patrick's Day Erg Classic. I recently reached ten million meters on the erg.

I have had a slow start to the current season (to many vacations) averaging around 8K per day. Now that summer is nearly over my distances and training should increase.

I reside in Westfield, NJ, I am originally from Wildwood, NJ. I am learning to row single scull and sweep on the pristine Passaic River for the PRRA. I am currently under employed. I am seeking a teaching or school administration position. I would appreciate any job offers or leads. I would also appreciate any advice that improves my erg times and leads to a hammer in February. I am looking forward to the opportunity to make the USIRT.[/b]

Hi John, still looking to run into you at PRRA Community Row on a day when I'm not working on the bunker. If you're there Saturday and Ernesto doesn't flood us out, maybe we can go out (if we can find a boat sturdy enough, other than the gig double)....

494 lbs. How about using seats 2 and 3 of a LWT four? I was going to suggest seats 1 and 4 as an alternative, but then it might crack in the middle.
