Fall Team Challenge incorrect stats

Post by BikeErger » October 30th, 2020, 1:31 pm

Two teams listed in the stats for 20-50 members have more than 50 members. C2 says they can't fix this right away. What is the point of having Challenge competitions if the stats are wrong? What a joke.

Do you really think that ranting on here will have any effect at all on the outcome?

Not saying you are wrong, but remember its 'sign-ups' that counts towards team competitions and not members. A team might have 120 members but only 40 sign up for a team challenge. This team is therefore in the 20-50 category as far as this challenge is concerned as only 40 people in the team are taking part.

I think you might be taking this a tad too seriously. It’s just a virtual rowing challenge after all. Nobody is going to die as a result of a mistake, and even if there is an error “the point” is to encourage people to participate, which these things always succeed in doing.

Having said that, which teams are you looking at? I can’t see any teams in the category with more than 50 people signed up for the challenge. There are certainly some huge teams listed, but as Dino says it’s the number of people who signed up that is being counted here, not the number of people in the team itself.

All the chalanges are fake news anyway until they bring in verified only rows. I gave up on entering them years ago. Still dissapointed that Concept 2 cannot even introduce ONE verified challange each year. The actual results and sudden lack of certain people might come as a shock.

It looks OK now?
If you go to FTC and filter 20-50 the Polish Indoor Rowing Team with 52 sign-ups aren't listed, and neither are Aviron Seynois who had 51 registered for the challenge.

The problem with introducing one verified challange is that it's going to make all the top results in the others look fake. Still I would like the opportunity to go really hard out for one month a year and get a decent result. Logbooks need to be open as well even if it's only for the month of the challenge. There is a direct correlation between pace and distance so as well as your total distance your average pace for that distance should be displayed. Big distances are possible but only at crazy slow paces by people that have all day to sit on an erg.

The filter has always been correct, it is the final statistics that have not been corrected.
