Sculling hands

No, ergs don't yet float, but some of us do, and here's where you get to discuss that other form of rowing.

Sculling hands

Post by skelly1 » June 27th, 2009, 9:32 pm

Seems I have more wear and tear at the base of the three outside fingers on my right hand (dominant). Calluses build up in these areas at a much faster rate than my left hand. One thought I had, but hard to verify, is that my fingers grasp the oar handle more tightly with my right hand. Is this common?

The blisters and calluses are different for each of my hands. I think its probably the same for everyone. Bodies aren't exactly symmetrical and there is the whole left over right thing at the crossover.
