A lot of you may already use Gold Medal Times for performance analysis or comparing crews of different sex/boat type etc. We have created an iphone/ipad app that does all the calculation for you. Just input boat type, distance rowed and time taken and your percentage of GMT will be displayed. The app has been updated to include a custom option, to create your own GMT's. We will shortly be releasing an update with indoor rowing world records, so you can have a percentage of world record time, allowing you to race people of different age/sex by seeing who produces the higher percentage.

New Rowing App
Re: New Rowing App
The GMT% calculator app we launched last month has now been apdated to include all the official Concept 2 World Records. This means you can now put in your score for any distance and see how it compares to the World Record in your category.
For example, if I stick in my own 2k of 5:58.4, this would give me 94.392% of the World Record in my category. My 500m pb of 1:19.1 would give me 106.922%, my 5k of 15:56 would give me 88.468% . All GMT's are compared to World record pace for 2000m.
Having this calculator would allow a 30 year old male to race 50 year old women. Example:
50 year old women pulls 7:18, 30 year old man pulls 6:01.
Women gets 95.434%, Man gets 93.241%. Women wins!
Or, 40 year old man pulls 11:18 for 3000m (79.093%). J18 Girl pulls 12:13 for 3000m (80.607%). Girl wins.
The app could be an interesting tool for personal challenges, intra club challenges, CTC's etc.
Available in the Apple App store.
