I am looking to buy either a Model D or E and have a 2 year old toddler at home. I have not seen a Concept2 in person but wanted to make sure that a toddler's finger can't fit through the fan shroud.
Can anyone help with this?
Thanks.

Maybe best to find one in your area and see for yourself:

That link will show where they are in your area, and you can even bring your kid and judge for yourself.

I would be more worried about a toddler getting their hands pinched between the seat rollers and the rail if they sneak up on you while you are rowing. Unless you have the damper set to 10 (wide open) I doubt a toddle could get their fingers through the fan shroud, and even with a full open damper it would not be easy.
The model D and E are both great machines, so I do hope you get one. I do suggest you check out the Rowpro software that is used for online rowing/racing with other people:

There are also live races events if you get as addicted as some of us

Re: Model D or E and toddler safety
I know this is an old post, but if anyone is reading and curious - a toddler cannot really get their fingers far enough into the vents to hurt themselves. Even with the damper at 9 (wide open vents), my 3 year old cannot get close to touching the fan inside.

And of course they love pulling the handle and then just letting it go........
Similar problem with pets, you can get tails or little fingers under the seat rollers if you rowing so you need them out of the room or know where they are while your rowing.
The Model E is higher if they fall off.
