Inside of arms / biceps, elbow area "sore"

I started rowing first of April and have around 170,000 meters thus far where I jump around from 60 min rows, to 30 min rows and also 5000m rows. MY split times range from 2:05/500 to 2:35/500 with an average being in the 2:15/500 range. I row anywhere from 18 - 22 spm.
The handle on the "c" rower feels very skinny so only half of each hand is on the handle. I hook my fingers and treat my arms as they are along for the ride.
My elbow joint inside by the bicep . forearm area is sore but does not interfere with my rowing. Will this eventually go away? I have rowed with the new blue "D" handle and like that bend better.
today I did a 30 min @ 2:05.6 / 500m and sit here and know that my joints are sore.
Thanks

I've had the pain you describe. The solution that worked for me was to go to a sporting goods store and buy an elbow sleeve which I wore whenever I rowed or did strength work (seated benches & seated rows). Wearing it and being very self-conscious of my grip on the C2 handle (when I rowed hard I had a tendency to grip the handle firmly in my palm and really pull). Sounds like you're holding the handle correctly but be aware of your hands and also when you begin the pull. If your pull starts before you push off with your legs you also risk putting pressure on that elbow. I also found some relief with topical applications that provide heat (I used Absorbine Jr., but I suspect most will work).
But get the elbow sleeve. I've been pain free now for two years but it did nag me for a few months until I did the above.

Add me to the list of those with elbow problems. Have been battling it for the past couple of weeks. I have had "tennis elbow" on my left elbow/ligament area and while I have continued to row it has been pretty painful at times. I have a messed up right shoulder from years of hockey and I believe that I pull harder/over compensate using my left arm. I have lowered the drag factor from 5 down to 4 and that has helped. I had thought about the elbow sleeve but was not certain about it. After reading that a fellow rower has had success using one I will reconsider getting one if this continues. Andy

I have experienced this too.I consider it an over use type issue.I protect my wrists and hands and have noticed soreness in the elbow joint at the bicep from time to time.rest makes it feel better..

I have a blue "D" handle which you can have for shipping costs. I got it for my "C" but it bothered my elbows. Send me a PM with your address and I will mail it to you for shipping costs.

I have the elbow pain and had just recently done a search on the forum about it. I have taken a few days off to rest and started wearing the tennis elbow straps to help support the tendons. Haven't rowed with them yet but it sure has helped the pain.
