Transferring Data to PC

I am about to order a Concept2 (Model E) and I've been looking through all of the literature and I am not sure how the workout data can be transferred to my PC. Do I need one of those Card Readers to do that or is there some other method?
There will be, hopefully, 4 of us (me, my wife and two 16 yr olds) using the machine and each of us has their own PC.
Any suggestions welcome.

If you have your own machine you won't need a card reader.
The performance monitor (PM4) has a USB socket on the bottom which allows you to connect it to a MAC, Linux or Windoze PC.
There's more software available for Windoze. RowPro, Venue racing, C2 logcard reader, PMI ActiveX control.
For MAC there's only C2 logcard reader.
For Linux there's only some experimental stuff, as yet.

Thanks. One more question...is the PM4 able to be removed from the machine to be taken to the PC or do I have to bring the PC to the PM4 on the machine?
Sorry if this sounds trivial, but I do not yet have a machine of my own and I'm trying to visualize how we going to use it and record the data.

The PM4 comes off the machine rather easily. Pull out the plug on the bottom (like a headphone plug) and unscrew the rather large plastic nut, and off it comes. But they do provide a very long USB cord with the PM4, so if the PC is in the same room you may be able to hook the two up without moving either one.

Thank you so much. I've just ordered my new machine and everybody is looking forward to using it. My wife and I for a general body workout which is low impact; one daughter for knee ACL rehabilitation suffered playing competitive soccer and my other daughter for aerobic workouts year round here in Arizona. Maybe it will lead to a new sport for them too.
