Post by Fatboy58 » August 15th, 2007, 8:25 am

Hi there,

I'm having problems with a pes anserinus inflammation after rowing on the erg.

Advice would be welcome

I had same problem suddenly after about 800k of erging over 5 mos. After a few weeks of experimenting with less distance and /or intensity , arnica salves, etc, I determined it had to do with my lower legs getting past vertical at catch. In looking back I sense a form break in a hard short interval piece.I put a piece of tape in the slide to help me shorten my slide to not quite vertical lower leg and that solved my problem .
FYI, the pain wouldn't come on until 3-5 hrs after rowing and not much swelling that would last a day. But still sore to light pressure. Pain would come and go , no regularity, but noticed it more if my leg was straight. I never had pain when I rowed?!
Good luck
