Community Rowing Term Guide

Post by Neb154 » June 22nd, 2006, 3:16 pm

This was created at the askings of another post:

SPM = Strokes per minute
BPM = (Heart) Beats per minute
Split = Time it would take, at that pace, to do 500m
m = meter
k = thousand meters
HM = Half Marathon (21,097m)
FM = Full Marathon (42, 195m)
' = Minutes
" = Seconds
r = Rest (or rate occasionally)
HR = Heart Rate
MHR = Max Heart Rate
RHR = Resting Heart Rate
HRR = Heart Rate Reserve (MHR-RHR)

I implore you to add to/edit the list, and I will edit it accordingly.

Edit : FM Fixed and mps

LP should be LB (Low Brow) and it doesn't mean much. YMMV (Your Mileage May Vary)

"lowest Pull" I think has something to do with choices made regarding inimate relationship partners. :wink:

One thousand meters should actually be K (Capital), or km.
