Blisters?

Weight Loss/ Weight Control
Does anyone else out there get blisters from rowing? I don't mean on your hands, but at the top of your, uh, butt crack? I know it's a little weird, but if you have and know a good way to deal with it, please share.

I use anti-chafe stuff in a rub-on stick that they sell for runners. It helps. Also a set pad, and another pad in my shorts. And sometimes a large-scale bandaid over the affected spot.<br /><br />grams<br />

Hmmm.... Are you using the sliding seat or the rail? <br /><br />Wear some of those padded C2 rowing shorts...like bike shorts with padding.<br /><br />good luck.

Well, a set pad is a typo-it should be a 'seat pad'. I am on the road this week - in Jupiter Florida. I dropped in today at Jupiter Fitness - 4 ergsand youcan erg as long as you want. I couldn't bring my giant gel seatpad so I used a folded bubble-wrap (small bubbles) plastic mailing envelope to sit on and erged for over an hour with no ill effects, and no sliding around on the bubbles.<br /><br />grams

Usually comes after 3 or 4 consecutive days of extended rowing sessions. Boy they can hurt.

I use two C2 pads to me it's comfortable. But rowing longer than an hour is always a bit uncomfortable

I've had this exact problem from time to time and it is painful. It hasn't really correlated with the intensity or frequency of my rows though, so I figured I must just sit wrong on the occassional row. Whatever the cause, I usually just rub a small bit of petroleum jelly on the affected area before rowing and that seems to minimize any further problems.<br /><br />Daniel
