ok, heres the deal. I started rowing again after not doing for 3-4 years(i am 17) at the beginning of the school year, i am a pretty big guy 6'2 1/2" 280lb
i do not seem to be looseing any weight at all. I know I am getting a lot stronger(erg times and performance out on the water tell me that) e.x. first 2k time 1:54.9/500m new time 1:45.8/500m
and the first one was 2 months ago, the new one is a week or so old
i guess i might be kinda rambling here, but tell me what you think.

also, i was looking for suggestions on general diet (i am not sure what I sould eat to do well, but still possibly loose sme fat)
and if it helps at all my pant size is between 36-38
thanks
david

Weight Loss/ Weight Control
David,

We are the same height but when I was 17 my height was 6' 0" and I weighed about 165 lbs. It took me until I was 27-28 to reach my max weight of about 230. When I finally decided to do something about my weight I started eating 3 regular meals a day and eliminated any between meal snacks or extras like desserts.

As for exercise, I took up running. Nothing competitive but I found that when I did aerobic exercise the magic number was 45 minutes a day. Once I reached that level it was easy to lose a pound a week. Now I'm 60 no longer a runner but a pretty serious and competitive indoor rower and the same things still work. 45 minutes a day on the erg and cutting out any extras will still drop the weight when I want to.

Find out what works for you and then make that part of your normal routine for your lifetime.

Frank
