Some of us race frequently online using RowPro. In fact it turns out that Frank Knight and I live about 10 miles apart. How's that for a small world.

Some other Mainers:
Frank Knight
Will Haskell
Jim Barry

Jeff

Weight Loss/ Weight Control

I'm moving to Maine this summer. I'll be based at our summer place on Deer Isle until we can find something in the Portland area. I hope to keep up the water rowing as much as possible there. Does anyone know about water rowing options around Portland? I'm excited about becoming a year around Mainiac.

-Don

I'm in Freeport, Maine. It seems like there's an increasingly active rowing community around Portland.

If you're looking for boat clubs around Portland, there's Yarmouth Rowing Club in Yarmouth (they have 4+'s, and if you have a 1x they have docks but no boathouse yet. Outdoor storage is a possibility, I think). If you'd like to meet some of the folks I think that there are 4+'s going out tomorrow (6/4) at 6:30 and Sunday (6/5) at 9am.

There are also folks who scull on Highland Lake in Falmouth and on the river in Brunswick. Finally, you might want to contact the Maine Rowing Association. If you do a quick Google search you should be able to find their web page. Very, very nice group of folks with some very good masters scullers. They run a series of head races over the summer and fall. The Moosehead Rowing Regatta is tomorrow (Sat) morning on Moosehead Lake and the Cow Island Classic is coming up on June 18th. If you'd be interested in other races nearby, the Black Fly Regatta (blackflyscullers.org; June 25th) is a blast.

Welcome to Maine!
David
