Pm2+ Black Out

I am running windows xp with a pm2+ today when I powered up my computer the pm2+ turned on like it should. then when I started erow the pm2+ went blank and I had no conection, it did the same thing with row pro I have new batteries in it but it just shuts down when I start a rowing program... any suggestions?
