Hi everyone, new guy here, I have a question, my gym has a newer model C from I believe 2002-2003 which I use, I'm looking to buy a used model C for home use and someone is offering to sell me one which appears to be a few years older, probably made sometime in the 90s. The one at the gym has a green and orange C2 logo and this one has a black and white logo plus it says under the logo the complete exercise. Just wondering if there are any other differences or upgrades between an older or newer model C besides the logo, such as the construction, parts or feel etc. that would make one preferable over the other in your opinion, or are they basically the same. Thanks for your help.

The Very Early Mod C's still used the PM1, but of course now you could upgrade to teh PM3 if you wanted to. (Or ErgMonitor)

This worked fine for securing the two ends and wheeling them around, but believe it or not there are some people who row in such a way that there is a significant lifting force generated at the footplates during the finish. This resulted in bent pins, and a search for a better method. For 99% of the population, this is probably not an issue. JonW

I've got an old, old C, bought in '94. PM1, locking pin. Other than the PM1 (which I upgraded a couple years ago), I've found no appreciable difference between my erg and newer Cs I've used in clubs. I doubt I'll ever trade up — it'd take a lot of technological advances to offset the Model D color scheme, bleh.
