Hello, I am frustrated that my feet slide sideways while rowing hard. Is this a common problem? is it happening to anyone else? I just want to make sure I am using proper form and not doing the exercise incorrectly. Thank you! Maria

Your feet are sliding sideways on the footplates?<br /><br />I think that doesn't matter. As long as your legs are in line, your feet are going to go where the straps and/or your alignment allows them to go.<br /><br />My feet tend to be very slightly to the right, i.e. my left foot is closer to the railing than the right one. But I think that also has to do with the alignment of the erg and chain etc. It was much more so on the model B, and not very much on the C.<br /><br />If you mean the feet on the erg, then wrap duct tape around the rubber and as you're doing this flip the tape over so the sticky side is outward, wrap it around a few more times then the erg won't move when you row.

I tend to shuffle my feet around slightly through the course of a session, as it's not necessary t keep them in exactly the same place for every stroke. But if they are shuffling around without your wanting them to it suggests a problem with your technique. My best guess would be a problem at the end of the stroke - do you find that your feet lift off the footrest as the handle comes into your chest?<br /><br />Cheers, Paul

On the model B the chain came out of the cage on the right side of the railing, which resulted in my feet being more to the right.<br /><br />I've checked since my last message and the difference on the model C is very slight and not obviously noticeable.
