Hi,

On my second-hand Concept2 Model C, I am not sure if the seat rollers need to be replaced. When rowing, the seat move forward and back smoothly. However, there is a lot of wobble from side to side if I move it with my hands. (There is also some play when lifting the seat away from the beam). Is this something to be concerned about, or normal for the seat?

Thanks,
Rich

check to make sure that the screws which bolt the seat onto the rollers are tight. If a rather large person had it before you, or it was sat on sideways a lot the screws will strip themselves out and it will wobble. Call C2 and order another seat and screws to go along with it and you can re-drill with a standard screw gun, if this is the case. The rollers are usually not the issue...usually.

Rich- Also note that the two bottom rollers can be put into one of three pairs of holes. The holes closest to the flywheel should give the tightest fit on the monorail. Go to our pdf index at http://www.concept2.com/resources/pdfindex.asp and open up the bottom seat roller replacement instructions. While you are at it, give the top roller contact surfaces a good cleaning with a household cleanser and a medium scotchbrite pad. Good luck JonW
