We're thinking about offering a floor mat for the Indoor Rower. Sort of soft, slightly cushy. Would offer a protective non-slip surface on which to place your rowing machine. Would have an interesting Concept2 graphic on it. Any interest?

-bp

Would it have an inch upside to it all around the mat, this would keep the sweat from going onto the carpet?

how much is it?

I currently use a dust sheet under the erg, that catch's all the sweat that fly's off the arms, your mat would need to be quite big.

hmm. the one we currently have doesn't have a ridge on it at all... but i'll check. it would certainly be possible to add a 'gutter' along the edge - this would catch sweat pretty well.

-bp

Is it like the one they already sell on the UK site?

I have one and it definately keeps the carpet from getting trashed

Only thing I would suggest is: make it about 6" wider and 12" longer than the uk one...

When I erg on a carpet, the erg doesn't slide unless there is some major bum shoving going on - such as in a 200m thrash. But the sweat catcher might be something that I should look in to. I haven't been using any type of floor mat/towel to catch the sweat. The sweat usually falls on the carpet in two puddles just behind the elbows at the end of the backstroke. Maybe two buckets or pie pans with the C2 logo would be more appropriate?

Cheers,

Paul Flack

I'd be interested. My erg is on a hardwood floor, so sweat can just be wiped up. But I have to put a piece lumber on the floor in front of the erg to keep it from moving forward. So a non skid mad would be good, I think.

Carla

I use a plastic runner that I purchased from the local hardware store. I believe that it is about 36" wide and that is not wide enough to catch all the sweat. A gutter type edge would help prevent run-off. I too use a piece of wood to prevent a forward slide. If the one C2 is planning to offer prevented sliding if would be helpful.

I have the floor mat from the UK site and its on a wooden floor and not only does it catch all my sweat (and I sweat a lot) it also stops ALL the sliding. Its a great buy I think.

My erg sits on the carpet and doesn't move, I have a piece of old lino floor covering to catch the sweat. Could do with something with a 2 foot wall around it, as Mrs G says I get sweat all over the walls and doors , Havent quite made the ceiling yet though
After my house move, will be confined to isolation in the garage though !!
Cheers
Steve

This is starting to make me wonder about people sweating too much, or I don't sweat enough. I wear a sweat band, run a fan to blow air on me, and keep my home cool (72 fegrees F), and I do not have a massive sweat problem.
