I think that sounds like a great time. Keep working hard and improving, and you would have a good shot at a college scholarship. I don't know anything about it actually, but it has been discussed here before and there is some dispute about what kind of erg time is required. In a recent blog, Xeno says:

QUOTE

An individual does not need to be a skillful athlete in order to pull a great indoor rowing score.

A great erg score is the result of a combination of: Miles rowed, weightlifting, and target heart rate training.

Anybody of any age can achieve improved fitness quickly with indoor rowing.

High school students, athletic or not, may be potential rowing scholarship candidates.

A male heavyweight rower pulling a sub 6'10" is considered a red hot recruit.
A female heavyweight rower pulling a sub 7'10" is considered red hot.

A male lightweight (at or below 155lbs) rower pulling below 6'30" is considered a red hot recruit.
A female lightweight (at or below 125lbs) rower pulling below 7'30" is considered a red hot recruit.

That is it for now.

XENO

Here are some good threads from the past (a little testy though at times)

lightweight college times

college rowing

Both of you are insane for your age! Thats really really impressive. Im also only 15 but im not a freshman in highschool im a sophmore (went to kindegarten too early?) im 6-1 and 163lb's. My last 2k was a 7:09 at the mid atlantic erg sprints, but im aiming to get a sub 7 by the end of the year. Once again congradulations on that 6:44 man...thats ridiculously sick
