I've searched the archives, and I could not find anything on this question, but I could have missed it ... in any event ...

What would be one's expected mile pace based on paces for other ranked distances like 1K and 2K? Anyone have real life experience that would be willing to share their "set" of paces for PBs or SBs at 1K, mile, and 2K?

Thanks ... Mark

I have a whole long list of non-standard distances that I use to track my own PBs ... a way to add more interest, variety, and get some minor victories along the way. These include John's idea of tracking 20SPM set pieces or set times. If I do this long enough, and get a big enough list, I can certainly get to a point where I can set a PB every day ... "Hmmm, let's see, think I'll go for a PB for 1,234M today."

Can't do it this weekend because I've got to make (another) quick trip to Europe and I leave Friday. I'm back at home next Wednesday evening. How about the 21st? Maybe 13:00 GMT (or later)?

I have my first live race on the 29th. I'd shoot for my projected live 2K race target pace for the 29th minus 0.5, for the mile. It will be a great test and perhaps confidence booster, but it's going to be much slower than your pace ... sorry!

Put it up and I'll be certain to join.

Regards -- Mark

Do you guys ever do the mile on rowpro? I didn't see it listed. I am thinking of setting one up for Feb 18th as a final tuneup before the crash-bs. Is anyone else interested in doing that? Best time for me to race is around 14-15:00 GMT, but I think I could be flexible and row later too (since technically I don't have to make weight for a nonranking distance).

Ok, I put it up, so now we are on for Feb 18th. At least for me, this won't be an all out race, since I plan to stick to 2k race pace (1:45). But should be fun anyway.
