Training

Post by [old] nkoffler » August 25th, 2005, 4:47 pm

I would like to expand my core and flexibility training. I already stretch and do a few core exercises in addition to erging (on slides) regularly. I am considering purchasing a stability ball and a medicine ball. I've seen several lists of core exercises using a stability ball. I would use the medicine ball to enhance some of these and do a few more exercises. I'm looking for feedback/advice regarding the following:

1) Are stability balls useful as a supplement to erging?
2) Are medicine balls worthwhile?
3) Would a BOSU be better or a worthy addition?
4) Any alternatives pieces of equipment?
5) Any suggested or favorite exercises/stretches?

Thank you and happy erging.

Neil

Hi Neil,
You might find everything you need in Xeno Muller's upper body workout DVD. It concentrates on core strength and flexibility. You would go to gorow.com to order it. In fact, all four DVD's are great. Each one is different. They're great fun and time flies when you're working out with them.
Byron

I have the first two and held off on the others because I was doing a lot of non-erg training in preparation for hiking. I'll pick these two up.

Neil
