I made this request several years ago, and I'd like to repeat it: Even if you post a lot, and your forum pals know all about you, it's frustrating to read training tips, PBs, tales of eternal torment on the erg, etc., if I have no idea how old you are and how big you are. I read about someone who's gone from a 7:30 to a 6:50 2K in six months by training five hours every third day and I have nothing to judge it by if I don't know who's done it. (I'm 57, 6'5", 120 kg, so there are some things a 20-yr.-old borderline lightweight can get away with that I can't)
A lot of people put their info in a sig file -- that's probably easiest.
Anyway, I think the forum's great, especially things like the "5K armageddon" and the PBs. And I think BillP deserves a round of applause for the new club listings.
thanx,
Willie

--------------------
57, 6'5", 120 kg/// 2K 6:59.8 (whew), 10K 48:18.9

i think it's a good idea, since part of the use of the forum is for comparison/incentive among rowers.

since we are on the topic, wouldn't it make sense to express al measurements in one system?

we all express age in years (as opposed to months or other), and we all express distance rowed in meters, so we could all use meters for height (since height is just a vertical distance) and kilograms for weight (which are also used on the ergometer's monitor, since watts is a unit derived from meters and kilograms).

chickenlegs
34, 1.96m, 92 kg

Quited rowing (and any sport) when I was 18, came back at 30. Trying to get where I was...
