If you want to rank a 4 x 500 with one minute rest as a 2k piece you have to include the rest in the total time.

When you combine such workouts in the online log you loose a lot of data that could help in your training. I combine things to make it easier to enter, I also keep a detailed log in an Excel spreadsheet that keeps more data such as drag and stroke rate and makes more calculations than the online log.

I'd enter it as 2001 meters.

Add up the meters, add up the times, punch it in. I keep a seperate log at home to record intervals, quality, notes, progress, etc.
Big caveat; if you're posting a ranking piece, or a BP, or doing a Challenge, then you have to do the whole thing all together. To me it's just easier to keep my C2 log simple.
I usually log the total of the work out of the day, and, as TedCG does, I have another log book at home for the details of the work out.

Cheers!
Keep erging!
