Training
I am in what I hope are the final throes of some virus that came on like salmonella poisoning this Saturday. My question is when can I get back on the erg? I've been using the BIRC plan, level 4, 5X/week. I broke 6:50 for the 2k last year and I'm hoping to break 6:40 this year.

I had an attack of allergies last Wednesday, which worsened considerably after doing yard work and mowing the lawn.

The next morning I was very weak and just rowed for 91 minutes, very easily.

Since then I've kept rowing easily and each morning has been a bit better.

Today was my first faster session since last Tuesday and went very well, though I was holding back quite a bit and still felt some of the weakness, but am getting back to normal now which feels good.

My feeling is to closely monitor your body, and to take things very gradually.

This time of year in North Texas, I suffer from Bermuda Grass, some of the outdoor molds and Red/Mtn. Cedar. The achiness and fatigue that I've been experiencing on and off since late March seems a factor in my lackluster rowing sessions. I'm somewhat new to these symptoms, never having been an allergy sufferer before moving here.

If it's an upset stomach get on right away.
Maybe take it a little easy.

Standards of cleanliness and hygiene are deteriorating everywhere in the "developed" world. My advice: go to the hospital and tell them that you intend to travel to NICARAGUA and need all the immunizations except Malaria (there really is no immunization for that).

You will then be provided with all the shots that you will need here at home.
