By "2K PB" I mean your current age-group best time, not what you did in college years ago, on a bet, for a candy bar, against a girl...

I have set PB's in both races and individual TT's at the gym. My last PB was in a 'live' race, and I have only ever raced twice and PB'd both times.

ps In my opinion there is something special about setting a PB under race conditions when the pressure is on to perform, and I take much greater pleasure out of these 'times'

My first race ever, more than four years ago was a PB of 7:25.4. Ten times over the next three years I lowered it, taking a total of 29.9 seconds off. Five of those improvements were time trials and five were live races. So, pretty much even.

When I ran a lot I could never do a time trial as fast as I could do a race. Erging seems very different in this regard. Maybe my adrenal glands have been emptied after all those running races.

Rick

Did my PB as part of a team trial the week before the UK GP final in 2003. In the race I went 0.1 sec slower!

Xav
