I just watched a really inspirational film called "St. Ralph", about a 14 year old boy who joins the Boston Marathon because his mom is in a comma, and he thinks if he wins then a miracle will happen with his mom (sounds weird but the movie was amazing) ANNNNYYYYWAAAY...i just wanted to ask if there were any rowing movies out there <br /> -Geoff

In "How high" there's a hilarious reference to rowing.. it's so unrealistic hahaha i love it. Check it out.

The Best movie for totally inaccurate rowing is Oxford Blues. The best part is were Keven Bacon jumps into a single wearing jeans and a bomber jacket and wins an impromptu race. To make it even more improbable there is a shot of him doing up the oar locks out in the middle of the river. Total cheese!!!

It was Rob Lowe I stand corrected. here is a quote from a review: "Lowe struts his stuff as an egotistical American who finagles his way into the prestigious British university. School is tossed aside for women, crew and fun. Hardly believable and entertaining. Lowe is way too upstaged by young Brits Pays, Sands and Payne" I was so sure Kevin Bacon was in it but alas he was not.

the movie skulls has a short 2k race. Unrealistic, but still fun to watch.

It happened at Henley a couple of years ago. Don't forget "Ben Hur," which has a few non-rowing scenes as well. The footage includes a a workout in a training band rarely used today: Ramming Speed.<br /><br />Tom

Is the ramming speed band above or below AT?? Ray--<br /><br />Nice work w/ the photo. I'm not sure a clip of the action would be helpful to oarsmen in refining technique, but I believe viewing might teach coxes some valuable lessons. <br /><br /><br />Tom
