We may as well get started on our row.
It is 1062 kilometers from Victoria to Calgary.

31.2 kilometers from Victoria to the ferry at Schwarz Bay.
I rowed 8.5 k today so I guess we are up to Royal Oak road.

I will try and post a link to some maps on the next post.

Jim

Don't worry Jim, I don't think you are a hose-head (Or even a hoser! ) Acually, I don't mind not having to do the the work I wouldn't mind seeing us go up to the territories at some point, but we can always do some "short" roadtrips for that after the big crossing. I did 8k today too. Thanks for taking it on, Jim! The map and pin idea is great! On second thought maybe you are a hose-head (Mike from Canmore was reading this over my shoulder and said I should say that .)

Wow Jim,
I am so impressed!!! Our own web site! My wife commented "not only is he a hose-head but he's a computer geek too!!" I don't care what she says, I think you are cool! MikefromCanmore (Zeb) has been going to speed skaking camp lately but will be getting a few metters soon. I might have to row a bit longer today just cause this is so great

Well done Jim! I retract my hosehead comments completely!! I hope I didn't hurt your feelings too much. On the contrary, and in the words of brothers Bob and Doug, I believe your work qualifies you as a "real beauty, eh!"

It is nice to see someone in our group has some computer skills other than typing. I was going to put a giant map of Canada on the wall and track our progress there, but this is way better.

Have a good day!

Mark

I have the detail maps posted in segments of about 100 to 150 kilometers from Victoria to Merritt.

In keep with our educational component, if you look on the map of the Saanich Peninsulayou will see a small town called Mill Bay. It is the site of Brentwood College. Brentwood is home to one of the largest regattas in North America and is well known for its rowing prowess. I know this since my son goes there!

Keep those kilometers coming.
Cross Canada Row
Jim

It is only 68 kilometers across the Strait of Georgia to the ferry terminal. I rowed a half marathon on Sunday. We can include the 21097 meters so we would be what, about a third of the way to Vancouver?

Darren

How did your 1/2 marathon go Darren? Was it a rowpro race? Wow you guys, thanks to Jim, we're really moving. I've got a question to post to all of you. I have a feeling that it's going to be a no (and that's OK) but I thought I'd ask anyway. If there are other Canadian's that don't want to join the "Mighty Eh's" because they don't wish to switch teams, could they enter their meters or do we want to keep it just to "Eh" members?

He put us right into the middle of Georgia Strait. I put in 12 k today so it's only 8.5 k to the ferry ramp or 12.5 k to the mainland.

Map of Our Progess

Keep on rowin' hoseheads.
