I have an upcoming rafting trip on the Grand Canyon that is 210 miles of rowing. The raft is 14ft, rubber, and will have about 2000 lbs of weight in it. Should this count as an addition in the training log?

What is your opinion?

Thanks-

-Dan

I'd probably have to say no... rafting isn't anywhere near the same thing as rowing a racing (or recreational) shell. You probably aren't rowing against the current, either, I'd guess, so all the miles being put in are advanced significantly by the current (whitewater rafting, I'd assume, in large part, in the Grand Canyon).

As far as I'm aware, the "on water" rowing log entries are supposed to be those that are rowed in boats similar to the ones being "simulated" by the erg.
