October 2006 <br /> <br /><br />Sprintrow: an indoor rowing competition for those athletes with an abundance of fast-twitch muscle fibres; bulk to burn and a complete disregard for the pain of lactic acid.<br /><br />Sprintrow: a must for anyone who thrills to the sheer speed of a 100-metre dash or loves doing the power/endurance balancing act required for the 300/500-metre super sprints.<br /><br />Sprintrow: the sport for those with the discipline to handle the controlled pace and rapid s.p.m. necessary for a really quick 1000 metres, shortest of all the middle distances.<br /><br />Sprintrow: for those thinkers with a mathematical turn of mind who love to plot and scheme and analyse in order to get the most out of their pairs or relay team.<br /><br />Sprintrow: In short, the sport for absolutely everyone.<br /><br />Sprintrow, when raced over two days includes six events. Those six events are: <br /><br />Day One: 1000-metre individual, 300-metre individual, 500-metre pairs.<br />Day Two: 500-metre individual, 100-metre individual, 4 x 500-metre relay. <br />Sprintrow when raced over one day includes four events. Those events are: <br /><br />1000-metre individual, 500-metre individual, 100-metre individual<br />and either 500-metre pairs or 4 x 500-metre relay. <br /><br />The rules of Sprintrow, the age and weight classes are the same as those for all indoor rowing races as practised by the New Zealand Indoor Rowing Association Inc. NZIRA Racing Rules<br /><br />The first Sprintrow World Championship will be held in the Bruce Mason Centre, Takapuna, North Harbour, Auckland, New Zealand on Saturday and Sunday, 28 and 29 October 2006.<br /><br />Sprintrow world records will be maintained in keeping with the rules of Sprintrow racing as outlined earlier in this article.<br /><br />Entry forms for the World Sprintrow Championship will be available for download from this site in February 2006. Entry will be open to all. Qualifying times will not be applied. Entries will be seeded for both individual and team events and will apply to all races.<br /><br />330 days left to train for the first World Sprintrow Champs!<br />

Can't wait!<br />This is the stuff that got me into Indoor Rowing (and now outdoor rowing).<br /><br />As soon as the Crash-Bs are over i'm going hard for the 500m & 1000m <br /><br />Hope some of you Yanks can make your way down our ways
