Unfortunately the number of events, and variety of locations, seems to have dropped over the past few years.

When I first started competing there were regional events probably on average every 2 weeks throughout the whole season. Then the GP series took off, and over a couple of years got pretty big. It got to the stage where people were concentrating on that as a series, and less and less people were going to the regional races. As a results many of the regional races dropped off the calendar. I think this is probably part of the reason the GP was stopped for a while, to allow these races to come back, only I'm not sure some of the organisers are willing to risk all the effort when not many people might turn up.

The regional races do seem to be making a bit of a comeback now though, which is good to see. Hopefully they'll all be well supported, and a few more in other areas on the country will come back eg Sheffield and Doncaster, which were both good races.
