I have a wireless network, and would like to connect without wires the rower to my computer and back to the TV, using the TV as a computer monitor. Can I use a wireless USB connector on the C2, to my router and then a wireless USB on my TV? Any ideas?<br />Thank you,<br />Sarah

I haven't tried this, but I don't think you can do either. The USB port on the PM3 is not going to support wireless networking that is designed for a usb connection to the computer directly. I am also not aware of any usb connection on a TV, or any way to have your display "wireless" from your computer, ie your display needs to be physically hooked up to the computer.<br /><br />A 15" monitor is pretty cheap, either free used if you know someone or look around work, etc, or $50-70 at a place like staples or walmart, etc. Use your TV for TV and a monitor for your display. I don't know what the run limit is for a USB cable either, but I don't think it can be too long (but maybe 15-20 feet could work).

I agree with MichaelB, as far as I know, there is no such thing as a USB wireless connection.. I think you might be confusing USB Wireless Networking with the ability to connect a USB peripherall to a USB port wirelessly. USB Wireless Networking is often called USB Wireless. <br /><br />Also, there is no USB video output, so you cant hook to your TV via USB. If your PC has the correct videocard and your TV accepts S-Video or Component Video input, you could connnect that way.. If you have an HDTV, there's probably an adapter available to connect to your PC to HDTV too.. but neither of those options is wireless. <br /><br />You can buy USB extension cables, so I don't think there is a run limit on USB.. but I dont think you want to run it all around your house either.<br /><br />

First you would need a wireless sending device for the rower to send the signal to the router, this would, essentially be another router that would take the signal from the flywheel and convert it to a radio signal. Then you need another wireless device to collect the signal and convertit back to the original before it enters the computer. Then you need software on your computer to analyze the signal and make sense of it, Ergmonitor and Rowpro come to mind. Just sending the signal will not show the monitor display on your computer or TV, you need software to interpret and format the display. As for the TV, there are devices you can use to replace the monitor with a TV, these have been around for a long time, Radio Shack in the states can probably help here.<br /><br />The wireless connection to a computer will be problematic because the input from ergmonitor goes through the microphone jack on your sound card, so your existing wireless router will be useless, you would need another radio device to take the radio signal and descramble it before it goes into the sound card. I am not familiar with the rowpro hardware setup but I bet the problems are similar.<br /><br />When you are all done, the cost will probably exceed the cost of a low end or second hand computer that you could place next to your rower.<br /><br />This sounds like the problem I had, My rower was in one room and my computer in another, but I had a TV next to the rower, if I could only send the signal to the PC and then back to the TV, that would be great. I finally upgraded my main PC and moved the old one to a table next to my erg, now everything is right with the world.

I think you nailed this one. If Concept 2 is going to offer the PM3+, they should also get their software and hardware compatible with logical 'second step' considerations that their customers will want. I guess I will be dusting off the old pentium II notebook, and perhaps get a larger screen. Only if the software is compatible with my older machine.
