Good stuff, Xeno! I'm barely started (under 6 months) with my erg but I love it already.

A couple of thoughts...

1. I really dislike Cafépress. This comes largely from my being an online cartoonist and seeing them change their service policies and shaft quite a few people a few years back -- I can't remember the details, but I was left with a very sour taste in my mouth. I'm not sure how "locked in" you are, but most of my comic colleagues have found better alternatives that give them more profit and let them sell their gear for less.

2. Anything in a really, really light fabric would be welcome... I find, especially in the summer, even t-shirts can be too "heavy" for my comfort. My little sister sent me a British soccer shirt last year for Christmas, and it's fantastic... venting up the sides and this ridiculously lightweight fabric. I have no idea what it's actually made of.

Anyway -- great initiative! I hope it goes well!

- Matt
Xeno,

I have recently purchased things from CafePress and I guess I agree with some of what Matt says. I don't like the iron-on transfers and would rather see them be screen printed. I did have a problem with a graphic that was enlarged to fit the shirt and pixelated. I talked with the owner of the site and he changed the graphic. I also got a free shirt with the new graphic from CafePress and they were very easy to work with. I have not had a bad experience with their customer service.

I think the main benefit to CafePress is that one shirt can be made at a time rather than working with another company that might force minimum runs of a shirt for each style. The iron-on shows the edge of the transfer that I would expect to not be there. The iron-on has held up well to washing so that is a plus.

I like the new graphics though and look forward to getting out to your studio for a class.

Steve

We ordered a few shirts. The quality is good and my "GIF" files come out great.
I look forward to meeting you at the IRON OARSMAN.

I may not understand you correctly.
XENO

Xeno,

I was just saying that it was probably the person that was supplying the artwork rather than the process that CafePress uses.

Sorry for the confusion.

I'm a Fan of the new shirt! It's very original and its just what the rowing communities needs as tshirt designs have been the same for a long time now and its not often that a new one comes out. Your wife did a good job and I just wanted to let you know.

Peter

I still feel I could drop some time on my erg tests, so I'm hoping to do that next year, and as far as the closest airport to me, that would be the Atl airport. I'll have to check my plans as far as regattas through July, but if I'm able to I'll try to make my way out to long beach.
