Hi everyone I`ve started to have an annoying problem.

Before I row I use the toilet for a wee, go upstairs to the gym and do my 10 minute warm up, everythings fine now so climb aboard the rower, set the drag factor and then strap myself in, have a sip of water and set the monitor to 10k start rowing and within the first 3k I feel the need to badly go to the toilet for a wee again.

It got so bad the other day I had to abandon my 10k and run to the toilet., came back and finished the row but it never felt the same as I`d been disrupted.

Does rowing push on the bladder at all ?
Does anyone else have this problem and if so how do they deal with it ?

Thanks for any replies.

hmmm, you don't have to flood yourself with too much water before erging. It is kind of weird that you have to go like every 15 mins or so. I usually have to go about once every hour and I drink at least a gallon of water throughout the day. of course you know caffiene is a natural diuretic, but so are high fiber vegatables and fruits. Maybe try erging in a diaper, then you don't have to worry about it

Hi Jus,

I thought I’d wait to see if an expert would chime in, but in the meantime let me make a guess. Did you take any cold medicines recently? Antihistamines can bring on a partial obstruction of the urethra. Then the heat caused by rowing could open things up a little, so you need to urinate.

My suggestion would be to avoid cold remedies and try natural home remedies instead such as staying uncomfortably warm, wearing a hat and scarf indoors, lot of warm liquids, possibly zinc nasal swabs such as ZiCam, Saw Palmetto (available at any heal food store), and drinking cranberry juice everyday. If the problem continues, see a real doctor and don’t listen to people like me. It could be an infection, easily treated.

You’re too young for this nonsense, but you could do some reading about the prostate gland in the hypochondriac’s Bible: The Merck Manual. If you do a google search on

merck manual

and you can choose between the regular edition or the home edition.

Byron
I was going to ask if you have been drinking alot of tea. If I drink several cups of strong black tea it really sends me to the bathroom with an active bladder, but it sounds like it may be the medecine you have been taking

hope you feel better and I can relate to the interuption of your erg, no fun.
