Is anyone planning on making it to the Ontario Ergometer Championships? March 6th, and I believe the location will be Ridley School in St.Catharines again.

Hi c-force

I'm definitely considering it. My fiance and I are doing the Crusader Challenge this wekend. There is no master category but we both want the race experience. Its seems to be the heir apparent to the Nardin Ergatta and Shuffle Off to Buffalo. The Ontario Indoor would fit in nicely as a cap to the season, two weeks later. The only other option is the Grosse Ille race in her hometown of Detroit.

Are you doing the Niagara Rudenkreig?

Samroot

Sam,

How did your Crusader Challenge go? At Rudern Krieg, I had a nice PB of 7:17.2, I'm pretty sure that equals a 1:49.3 average, and my average spm was 32.

c-force

Congratulations! Way to go! Isn't that almost a 10 second improvement?

My result was not quite as sucessful-about 5 seconds off my Canadian Indoor time.

We arrived at 9:00 AM and found out our raaces weren't until 1 and 1:30 PM. So we went out to breakfast and did our grocery shopping and got back at 1130 and they were running about 45 mins. behind schedule. We watched some races and then they started combining races and suddenly we realized there was only 3 of us in the open category. We scrambled to warmup and then they decided to give out some awards before our race, and they were carting away the warmup ergs.

I think we were late off the start-not realizing the countdown in the righthand corner-with no start command or horn. After 500m I felt like I couldn't breathe as did my fiance. Neither of us had an edge or focus.and just wanted the race to be over. Oh well no regrets-all part of the learning process.

A few mildly curious high school boys watched our race-I got the impression they wanted to see what their father would look like suffering through 2000m. or a peverse pleasure of seeing the 'old ones' suffer after hearing one too many stories of athletic exploits when their old man was their age.

Now if I can talk my better half into going to the Ontario Indoors...
Sam
