This past Saturday, Peter Daniels of the Ancient Mariners broke his own 100,000 meter world record by 15 minutes, 14.5 seconds. Peter's new time is 7:38:40.<br /><br />Peter achieved his record at the Wycliffe Sculling Centre as part of a major fund raising event for the Centre. Here is his report of his times at some of the key distances:<br /><br /> "......20,000 meters in 1hr.26mins; marathon in 3hours 5mins 9secs; 50,000meters in 3hours 41mins 37secs.; 60,000 meters in 4hours 28mins. 10 secs.; 80,000 meters in 6hours 3mins 31secs.; 50 English miles 80,450 meters in 6hours 5mins 38secs. and completed the 100,000 meters in 7hours 38mins 40 secs."<br /><br />Just four days prior to his record attempt he completed 778,000 meters for ninth place in the individual category of the January Challenge.

Ben,<br /><br />I asked Peter Daniels for his splits and he sent the following:<br /><br />Herewith split times for each 5,000 meters<br /> <br />21mins 20 secs.<br />21mins 48 secs<br />21mins 53 secs.<br />21mins 54 secs <br />22mins. 12secs. (D)<br />22mins 02 secs. (D)<br />22 mins 14 secs<br />22mins 47 secs(D)<br />22mins 47 secs.<br />22 mins 40 secs(D)<br />23 mins 27 secs(D)<br />23mins 06 secs.<br />23mins 39 secs. (D)<br />24 mins 20 secs. (D) <br />23 mins 15secs<br />24 mins 07 secs. (D)<br />24mins 23 secs. (D)<br />23 mins 35 secs.<br />23 mins 57 secs. (D)<br />23 mins 14 secs.<br />Without drink stops my 5,000 meter times started at 21 mins 20 secs and slowed to 23 mins.35 secs ( 2min. 22 secs splits)<br />My drink stops varied from about 30 secs. to 45 secs towards the close.<br />With drink stops my 5,000 meter splits varied from 22mins 02 secs to 24 mins 23 secs.<br /> <br />Peter Daniels

Very impressive though FM in 3:05 is god in itself without the additional 60K<br />
