I am looking for details on the blue moon challenge which I believe is scheduled for 7/31? Clicking on COMPETITIONS in the log lists the summer solstice as the "next challenge". Is the blue moon still planned?

john

Just row twice on Blue Moon day, at least 5km each time

QUOTE

In case you didn't know, a "Blue Moon" is the second full moon in a given month. This only happens once per year, max. This year it happens in July. The regular July full moon falls on July 2; so the full moon on July 31 is a Blue Moon! To celebrate this phenomenon of two full moons in one month, we challenge you to row two workouts on that day - July 31st! Each row must be at least 5,000 meters in length. Because it's summer, we will also allow on-water rowing in this challenge.

I'm about to do my first row in, well, a while

I've been out doing summer things: kayaking, a little astronomy, and a lot of geocaching. A challenge is always good to get me inspired though.

Forum all new & shiny --woo!

../Iliana

Hey Iliana,

Good to see you back. I did my first Blue Moon 5km this morning at 8:00 am. Will do the second after work late this afternoon. It's hot and humid here today. So it's good to have an extra incentive to get on the erg rather than lying around like a slug.

Rick

Thanks, Rick!

It's grusome humid here too, so it was particularly nice to have the c-breeze in place. I honestly think I felt more comfortable while rowing in front of the c-breeze than just sitting around. 5k done now, gonna do another tonight.

Cheers!

../Iliana

How do you go about ordering the Blue Moon t-shirt? I see no place to click on after meeting the requirements.

After you have looged in your qualifying sessions, click on the 'Blue Moon Challenge' link on your personal log page. It's located just under 'NEWS' to the right of your total meters rowed.

The "Blue Moon Challenge' page will have been updated with information on downloading your certificate, and it also has a link to the shopping section. You must create an account if you don't have one already, and when you are logged in, enter the words 'Blue Moon' in hte search box in the upper right hand corner.

I just ordered a hat. I hope its adjustable. I'd like a tank top but all of their shirts are he-man rower sizes, and I'm a lightweight lady only 5'3". I altered my "Million Meter' shirt to fit me better, but its a lot of work.

grams 61 lightweight

I also meet the requirements but haven't seen any update to my challenges page to indicate that I've done so. (13k on the water this morning and 6k erged earlier this afternoon).

I'll do another erg piece to see what happens, but...

I could do it with the "Summer Solstice Row".

Hmmm, worked for me. Maybe you have to do an update on your all-time total first(?)

Do you have cookies and scripts turned on?

The email they sent out said "Once you finish the challenge and enter your meters, you can click on the "Challenges" panel in your logbook to find the instructions for ordering your prize(s) and downloading your certificate of completion."

I can get to the updated page fom either the 'CHALLENGES' link in banner on my persoanl log page, and also by clicking on the 'Blue Moon Challenge' link.

grams
