I was recently hit with the flu pretty hard in one day, and it has pretty much cleared up after the four days I have been resting. What usually is the time it takes for one to get back to the point they were on the erg before they were sick?

Ease back into it. You'd be surprised how little you've actually been set back, just make sure that you do a few days of light steady state before doing anything like 10k or 6k for score.

Be patient. You may feel like you are back to normal but if your body is still fighting the lingering effects of the illness, your HR/PE will be elevated. That should be a warning sign to take it easy for a little longer. Ignore the signs and you will experience a relapse; heed the warnings and you won't lose as much training as you think.
Good luck,
MM

Its hard because I had momentum and now its all lost since the flu struck me down.

You'll get there, don't worry. It sounds like you've got your head on right about training, just be smart about recovery and hydration and stuff, and you'll be fine.
