So...what've you got to brag about?

Maybe it's a faster time or longer distance. Maybe you erged every day this week. Did you lose a couple of pounds or drop a dress size? Maybe your cholesterol is lower, or your blood sugars are under better control. Perhaps walking up that flight of stairs is easier...or sex is better ! Perhaps your boat walked away with top honors.

We want to hear about it...

How about if we are only "pretty fast, for a girl"?

My wife is looking hotter than ever, and doing a fabulous job of hauling me around the lake in the 2x, it must be all that Erg work I ask her to do.

Sorry, couldn't resist.... I'll leave now....

i can fit back into my size 12 dresses now (including one that i bought as a costume for my daughter's school play - a lovely, simple white linen dress that i've NEVER fitted into....can't wait till summer!). i'm just about to go shopping to treat myself to some new jeans as most of my trousers hang off me now. AND i have to do my bra up on the tightest hook (either my boobs are shrinking, or i'm shedding back fat....yuk!).

ALSO, i took over a minute off my 10k yesterday.

AND, i weighed 62.6kg this morning. not long till lightweight now!

a good week, all in all.

jane

Better late than never! I did a half marathon on Jan. 15th. It was my second one, and this time I improved to 1:49:16.4! Not bad for an old girl, even if I do say so myself. I was only trying to beat 1:51.

Now - for the big challenge. I'm really hoping to do a marathon in the not too distant future. I won't even care what time I get - I just want to finish it!

Carole -
It's fun reading your posts! Keep it up.

Little weed,

Get some 505 button jeans. They look great on ladies with the 'long leg muscle' look.

I ended up buyingall new clothes, underwear included, when I dropped 30 pounds. The bra size will be smaller, but now you can wear muscle shirts, so you won't care. I think big boobs would just get in the way for erging anyhow. I'll never know..

grams

grams,

at 5'2", i don't think i'll ever be described as having a long leg! i will have to buy SOME new clothes, but i'm bringing some of the things i couldn't squeeze into back into use. still, it's nice to have a change, even if it isn't all new. anyway, i'm enjoying my new jeans, and i'll look out for some 505s. i got a nice new adidas top today - sleeveless, with removable shoulder straps. my daughter said my boobs would fall out, but they managed to stay in the right place for a 6k! the work of gravity, unfortunately. big boobs get in the way of piano playing too! luckily i've got long arms.

bufflehead - i'm working up to my first half marathon and i'm like you with your full marathon...i just want to finish! hope to do it by easter (as a lightweight!)

jane

Hey Little Weed-
Good for you! Keep up the good work. I have also had to replace most of my clothes. What a bummer. Just kidding!
I'm impressed - you're going to go for the marathon before I'll be ready. I'm looking at the first week of May. Wouldn't it be great if we could get a few "girls" trying it at the same time?

Bufflehead (aka Sue)

I have only just started on my rower, but I am a determined and obstinate cuss, and would love to give a marathon a go come May 1st. So, if there is a list to add my name to, please do. I am r e a l l y s l o w right now, but can only get better!

Great score Little Weed!
I usually check, then use the pace calculator on the rankings page to figure out what average I have to hold, then set the monitor on avg pace and just keep the number there. At the very very end I'll sometimes hit the button so I can see how close I am to the goal.

Good luck next week, can't wait to hear about your 900+ score!
thanks ladies!
i checked the pace before starting, but i only thought about the 13,000m thing - i completely forgot the nonathlon. doh! but i know what i have to do next time and it's only a little bit further to go (about 50metres)! i hope i can achieve 900 points. i've felt a bit weary these last two days - i thought i'd get into my stride after 1k or thereabouts, but to be honest, it was all a bit of a struggle. perhaps i've overdone things, or maybe i'm just levelling out a bit after an improvement in my performance over the last few weeks. i've decided not to row at all today as it's a busy workday for me. maybe just an easy 5k tomorrow.

my arms are getting all muscley!

jane
