I've been rowing at the gym all week instead of on my own machine at home. The thing I find is that the machines are dirty and occasionally bumpy :x At home I clean with glass plus before I row :) , but I'm thinking that I can't take my bottle to the gym. Does anyone have any soloutions? I'm wondering if they make glass plus in purse size bottles. Does anyone else have this problem? What do you do?

Tina

Maybe a quick wipe w/a damp papertowel would get rid of most of the bumps.

Jemima, maybe a squirt or two of glass cleaner on a paper towel to dampen it, then place the paper towel in a ziplock bag. Then you have a damp easily portable cleaning rag which can go into the trash when you finish wiping down the slide.

Pam

Jemima, maybe a squirt or two of glass cleaner on a paper towel to dampen it, then place the paper towel in a ziplock bag. I clean my machine when I get on it, handles, slides, any dusty area. I clean it angain when I get off. I have had wheels that will not stop bumping, I asked to have them replaced.

Definitely wipe off the handles... that's how cold and flu germs can spread... OR, better yet,
bring your own gloves or "covers for the handles.

We never use "cleaner or cleanser" on our Concept2, but my husband and I oil the chain every few months and we dust it off every day.

Just be glad you found a health club WITH an Erg in it!! And happy rowing.

Rubber Ducky.

Good topic for discussion, and some good ideas.

Gosh, I guess I'd go for the idea of a paper towel saturated with cleaner and carried in a ziploc baggie. I also like the idea of covering the handles with something, and to go one step further, I'd probably take a piece of bubblewrap to sit on--knowing how much my bottom sweats on those seats! But then again, I'm a nurse, and I tend to have paranoias about microorganisms....

--Jen in WI
