Hi Everybody,

I am interested in trying my first ever row pro "workout" over the internet.

I use row pro all the time but have never tried to row with others.

I need to do 10 K to finish the HC and wondered if anyone wanted to join me?

I don't know how fast everyone goes but I am typically around 2:35/500 m.

I was thinking of about 8 or 9 am EST on 12/23 but that is somewhat negotiable. (I think that is 13 or 14 GMT.)

Susan

PS: I thought I already posted this message but I don't see it anywhere. So I am posting it again.

Susan,

Do you know how to post this row on the digital rowing list of races/training rows? Then other people can join your workout. I won't be able to make it because I live in the Pacific time zone and am NOT a morning person. I don't do anything at 5:00am except sleep!

Shannon

Susan,

Sure, I could probably join you. I was just planning to do an easy 8k tomorrow anyway, so I could just make it 10k and we can keep each other company. Do you know how to create the session? Or would you like me to list it? Because, as Canada Goose says, if you list it today, we might get some more takers between now and tomorrow morning.

- Krysta

The only time I can't is between 2000 and 2200 GMT, when my Mom arrives in town. Did Shannon sound like she might join if it wasn't such at such an early hour in her time zone? Mind you, I think she's having some back troubles too, so might not be able.. What if it were in the afternoon, Shan? Or is that even a possibility for you, Susan?

- Krysta
I just set it up as a regular session at 1600 GMT called "Easy_10k" - let me know if you have any trouble joining, Susan. If you want to make an actual race of it and handicap the start times, etc, we could work that out. Otherwise, I'll just row along with you whatever pace you go.

I just want to do a nice row with company. I have never tried a row pro on-line before. Since my daughter is at grandma's house, I figured this would be the perfect time. Thanks for setting it up. I was able to join. So if you are happy to just row along, that would be great. If others want to join and race, that's fine too. I will probably keep a steady 2:35 (although with excitement, it might become 2:30 )

So I am pretty sure that 16 GMT is 11 Eastern Standard. See you then!

I guess we would need web cam to chat while we row.

Susan
But as we check in to the rowing session, there is a little chat screen so we can help you if there's any problems getting underway.

See you tomorrow,

-Krysta
You know what a lazybones I am! Say "Hi!" to Mom for me, hope she has a good trip. Have fun on RowPro gals!

Shannon

Woo Hoo!
We have 4 signed up for the row!

The web cam was more for communication like "come on keep a steady pace" or let's go faster or let's go slower. I too am unable to keep up a true "conversation" while rowing.

I have worked hard to get to where I can pull at 2:35/500m
I don't know how others get to 2:15/500m or better!

I did ask for Xeno's video for Christmas. Perhaps I'll figure out how to get more umph in my stroke!

Anyone else going to join us at 11 EST?

Susan

So are Swamp Hen and Canada Goose sisters? Do you have other siblings? Or relatives that row? Isn't Canada Goose's husband on the Eh! Team? Speaking of which, was he able to bribe you to row for them or are you on for Foul Play?

Wow. THat was fun. Two days left 'til Christmas. If you haven't asked Santa for RowPro, you still can. It is an on-line download!

Thanks Kyrsta and Yvette and others!

I see you even did another 2k after that. That ought to finish off your Holiday Challenge nicely, eh? I just need another 3.5k for mine now, which I will probably do later today.

You are correct, Swamp Hen and Canada Goose are indeed sisters. And Yukon John is my brother-in-law. Canada Goose has managed to get John and I, and her own two children rowing. We have another older sister and a brother too, but we haven't been able to infect them with the indoor rowing bug yet.

As for the January Challenge... Yes, I must admit I will be rowing for the Eh!Team. I had to show a little Canadian national pride. But I am still a Duck and my regular meters still go to the Ducks in a Row.

- Krysta
(Swamp Hen)

Shari would be really miffed if I told her that you said she was older than me!

Susan,

My husband was nattering at me day and night to join the Eh Team just for the January Challenge and I finally caved in! I have signed on with them, but my metres will still go to the Ducks for the regular standings. Good grief that man can be persuasive!

Shannon
