Break it down into 500 meter pieces...500, then a minute of active rest, then repeat x 4.

Or see how long you can keep a certain split that's hard for you to do. Then see if you can keep it for longer, etc.

QUOTE(starboardemw @ Aug 10 2005, 03:05 PM)

I just got my rowing machine, and i havnt rowed for like a couple weeks, i really need to get back in the swing of things before fall season comes!! I need to get better! dose anyone have any sugestions about howto gain endurance for a 2k race so i cangetmy time under 8 mins. Rowing 5K (20mins), 6K (24mins), 30 mins, 10K (40mins) and 60 mins. The 2K is an endurance event, not a sprint. A steady 2:00/500m split is dead-on for a 2K. You only need to pull 1:59.9 to go under 8mins. [It starts to get harder to go under 7 mins.]

If you're very brave row 21,097 (half marathon, 1½ hours) and 42,195 (full marathon, 3hours+). C2 give you a lovely drinking glass for completing a marathon.

It just take some time to get better on the erg!!!

SO what you have to do is first:

A) try to even your efforts between longer and shorter rows . What I mean is: 1. try to last on the longer rows (30/60/hm) and 2. try to better the times on your shorter distances (500/1000/2000 and 5000). This takes time, but in the end it will pay off.

hm.
