Hi everybody

Supercanoa is online again! www.supercanoa.com

You can imagine the new supercanoa as a very big empty house
There is place for the online rowers and their ideas.

What is new?

Old supercanoa: You had to send me files, text and pictures
for an event that you were organizing.

new supercanoa: You can update yourself as backend user.
You receive the permissions to your section and the backend module
is friendly

old supercanoa: I was working with the results files, formatting them
changing your pictures, etc

new supercanoa: we have a new database. The new supercanoa has a connector
between your erg and the server. Informations come directly to the database
and You can update yourself your profile anytime: pictures, texts, weight, etc.

My idea is anyway that you can work independly of me. The new supercanoa
should be a platform for our online rowing. Another online clubs are welcome
too (What about to test updating the results of the Handicap Race from today?)

What to do?

I will begin with 3 projects, you can use the platform for your events
and your projects too.

My three projects are:

SC Connector:
To move the supercanoa connector from alpha to beta.
In the first test as alpha tester you:
-download the client
-install it
-click on "start"
-You will see "red" or "green", you mail me and inform what you got
and at what time in GMT

Reports:
Interviews with the rowers. Dr. David Lilly was my first victim. You can read
about him on the page

Race Events:
So soon I am ready with the SC Connector and I can start some events
as warming up for the OIRC

Ready 20 rowers are joined the supercanoa website as members, tester or editors
If you want a test login, let me it know.

I am really happy that I can row online again, because I need to lose about 3 kilos
that I won working on the computer and I am very slow. Maybe you will have the feeling, you are missing more informations. I thought the best way is that we start together, begin to think how to fill the spaces

Regards

Marilyn
(Webmaster from www.supercanoa.de, now www.supercanoa.com)

I am confused. In your system requirements for testing you say

QUOTE

Alpha SC- Program (15.01.2006-28.02.2006)
We will test the OIRC Race System. You can participate as tester if you have an ergometer with PM2+
or PM3 Monitor, and Internet access. We will start with individual tests, then races and then race events,
depending of the amount of bugs. It will be very important to definetively determinate the OIRC Date
( Tentative as preview 02.04.2006)

Do you have online rowing/racing software that we will download, use and test, or would we use erow or rowpro to race online? Or is your site going to be alternative place to schedule races and discuss races, using the existing erow/rowpro race servers?

Looking forward to the OIRC, let us know when that will be set.

On your calender, the OIRC appears to be set for Sunday April 2, 2006. Nice way to end the season.

QUOTE(michaelb @ Jan 18 2006, 01:52 AM)

Do you have online rowing/racing software that we will download, use and test, or would we use erow or rowpro to race online? Or is your site going to be alternative place to schedule races and discuss races, using the existing erow/rowpro race servers?

Looking forward to the OIRC, let us know when that will be set.

Hi Michael I have started with a group of volunteers (about 10 rowers, I have places free) to test "The connector" The connector is not really a training software, this is a connection software with the minimal functions to race on the web. Because it is in an alpha state I can not tell you too much. First I have to be sure that it is working with the testers. I think in a month, if all tests are ready and passed, I have more to say.

"Or is your site going to be alternative place to schedule races and discuss races, using the existing erow/rowpro race servers?"

Michael what I love to do is to organize events that we can have fun by rowing that we can forget that we are training hard. But Supercanoa is now more interactive, it means, every member can start a section (Discussions about online rowing, Start an Event (On the Server you want), or what your fantasy to rowing brings)

Marilyn
