I see you're raising the bar bmoore - nice.

7360 metres for 30 minutes for me. It'll be nice to have that become 7500.

Nice 6K PB Bill. Big improvement and more evidence that you will go sub-7 2K some time soon. Don't believe you need to wait for your 4X1K to come down.

I reckon you could set a comfortable 2K PB, (sub-7), whenever you feel like it.

I also want to show up with a big enough bank to break the barrier, not just get through it.

Too many birthdays this weekend. (And too much cake and ice cream). Time to get a good week under my belt. Tonight's workout is 8x500, and I think my goal is 1:42.

You've broken it for 5k, so it shouldn't take long. I haven't seriously tried the 30 minute yet, but it's a good step between the 6k and 10k. Just keep cranking the workout paces down by 1 second and you'll break it soon enough.

New best 6k time: 23:17. Starting to get the hang of it. Anyone know some good workouts for 6k's?

While I've done plenty of paddling - I worked as a raft guide and canoe instructor in college - I've never dipped an oar in the water. I'd like to, but I live in Chicago, where the opportunities are pretty limited. I did visit the closest club (CRRCP), but they work out at 5:30am and I am most definitely not an early morning person - probably 8 of my 10 million meters has been done after 8pm.

Alex

30 mins at 1:47 "dead" as average (and fairly steady at this throughout) to increase PB to 8,411m.

1:45.8 average to get past 8,500m is next step (and 1:49 for 60 min to get over the 16,500m point.) but will need to wait until after BIRC.

But, for me, first the short distances (500/1000/2000/5000).

Hennie

Did a 5k handicap race with Frank, MichaelB, and Pedro. My goal was 18:30. I started at 35 seconds, and proceeded to go for 18:30, but it should have been 19:05 instead. So, I guess I started too fast...

The adjusted time would then be:

18:28.2

That's a very exciting time bmoore, very. It shows you've got some serious mental discipline to match clear physical capabilities. I'm really hoping you stick with this over the long haul.

This is not a PB category which is often addressed but this week I reached the 19 million meter mark. This one is especially significant for me as I did this last million in 71 days, beating my old personal best by 11 days. My previous best was the 4 million mark back in 1998 which I accomplished in 82 days.

john hendrie

ojmit again - got my appetite back for rowing now and are going really well at the moment - new 60 min best yesterday - 14106 - first time over 14000 for the hour - i have also set pbs for 20 mins (5043), 25 mins(6101) and 40 mins(9683) over the last two weeks - I had a real bad spell prior to that but did manage to stick at it! I have also just racked up my 700 000th metre since starting as a complete and utter novice on May 21st 2005 - on track for the million before christmas! these achievements may be minor compared to some but they make me very happy...! I have yet to quit smoking completely but I am going to try this week.....scary.....wish me luck..

ojmit
