They are not very fast, the feeling is something like rowing a gig in a potato smash sea...
The pic on my avatar is from my personal photo album, its from a regatta we made (and won ) in Cambrils in june. In this regatta my wife Berta was rowing in the team, as mixed boats are somtimes allowed.
There is not very much extense information in internet, I suggest you to google for llaguts.
Just as an example, here is one link:
llaguts
If you want any more extense information, feel free to send me a personal message!

Hi FrankJ and all,

The slides arrived at 9pm Saturday night. They look very nice and are sitting on the edge of the living room. I am looking forward to trying them out and then doing some sessions, and compare with the regular erg.

I missed 8 days of rowing with a trip, then got back and a tooth started bothering me. It seems to be under a crown and is hard to get to. I was not able to sleep Friday night from the pain, holding my head, rocking back and forth, and then not quite as bad last night but still I didn't sleep till after 6am this morning, and then got a couple of hours and a nap this afternoon. But my head is hurting, jaw is swollen, and there's a constant pain in my tooth. The earliest the dentist can see me is Thursday morning, so I will be going there then.

I was hoping to at least get in a few easy sessions from this weekend, but am in absolutely no condition to do that and decided to do nothing till after the tooth is fixed or else pulled. I would have pulled it out already if that had been possible. After it is taken care of and recovered, I will be motivated to start from wherever I am and incorporate the slides in a program. I will post the results on setting up and using the slides as things progress.

Thank you very much to FrankJ and the other members of the forum. Your generosity did surprise me quite a bit, which I will remember and do my best to pass on to others.

Cheers, all the best, and keep up your great rowing.

John,

Sorry to hear about your tooth. I had a similar problem with an eleven year old root canal that suddenly went bad. I got to the dentist in one day buy he took one look and sent me to an endodontist. The pain was excruciating but I found that after 10 to 12 minutes of rowing at an easy pace on the erg the pain almost disappeared for 30 to 45 minutes. I ended up rowing more than once an hour for the 24 hours I had to wait to see the endodontist but the rowing made it tolerable. My body obviously does a good job of producing endorphins under the right conditions. Perhaps you should give an easy row a try.

Frank

The number shouldn't have changed (805) 922-7725. They're at 125 West Stowell near the 7-11 and SMHS. I think the girls in the office are the ones that still worked for my parents. (Terry is a name that rings a bell). Sometimes my mom even goes in and helps then when they're swamped. Anyway, it's worth a try.

Bill

Hi Frank,

Rowing easy sounds a good idea and I appreciate your suggestions. I did row some easy days last week, and was getting sore all over from the tooth, thus have decided to just rest.

Bill,

Thanks much for that. I will keep your info handy as a back up. I'm hoping to just have the tooth pulled as I would rather not have it bother me any more. I have had enough of tooth pain in my life. I will be driving to Mexico Wednesday night to have an appt the next morning.

Cheers.

I'm in Central California.

The reason is because their work is better and the cost is more reasonable.

It usually takes me about 4 hours and 45 minutes for the drive.
And it must be around 200-250 miles each way, which translates into approx. 20 gallons of gas at $3/gallon?

Of course, knowing you I expect nothing anyone could say could change your mind anyway. Enjoy the slides when you return.
