Hi there

i am in awe of all your amazing distances. I went the other way today, and decided to clock a 2,000 m time. V pleased with 8:57.5 for starters. I'm hoping to concentrate on longer pieces next week - if I can get the boys to get to sleep quickly and stay there! I just wish I still rowed on the water - the weather here was like mid-summer today!

Keep up the good work everyone.

Great Job Mallard!

Somehow I managed another PB today on my 10k at 51:20.8, which is about 1:06 off of previous PB!

I had one of those days where I just didn't seem to have the energy to row. I kept putting it off and putting it off, but I am glad that I finally did!

I ended up with a new PB for a 1 hour row of 11766 meters, which is up 224 meters from my previous PB.

Just goes to show that sometimes we have a lot more energy than we realize!

New 500 PB today...but it was on my new slides, so I'm sure that helped. (I think the jury is still out on whether slides make times faster or not--I think it makes some people faster, but not all.) 1:49.9 and 50 more Nonathlon points (though, if slide times aren't allowed on Nonathlon, I'll take it off. I'm waiting to hear).

QUOTE

had one of those days where I just didn't seem to have the energy to row. I kept putting it off and putting it off, but I am glad that I finally did!

Great job, Kathi, isn't that the greatest feeling in the world, when you really don't want to work out, and make yourself do it, and then end up with a PB! Awesome!

Woooo hoooo! I took a day off yesterday and decided to try to beat some old PBs today. I was just amazed at how well I did. I guess the long distance rows have really been paying off!

I took off about 5.5 seconds off the 500M, about 14.3 seconds from my 1000M and a whopping 1 minute and 27 seconds from my 5000M!

500M 02:04.2 74 of 112 | 66% 3/27/2005
1000M 04:29.5 68 of 106 | 64% 3/27/2005
5000M 24:12.1 141 of 244 | 58% 3/27/2005

All of my previous times in these three events were in the 77-79% for my group!!

I just cannot stop smiling!

You Girls are on fire!!
What have you been putting on your Wheaties in the morning? I guess I'm going to have to work on some PBs after my marathon training is over. Maybe I can get my times down some too.
Great job, ladies!
Pokey Buffle

This is my first post to the women's forum. I'm hope I'm doing this right.

I want to report my latest PB. I've been rowing for the past 16 years or so (I am 36). When I was in my late 20s I think I was at my peak for fitness and everytime I rowed back then I kept breaking my PBs, but then I started having kids and things in the fitness department went downhill.
I never thought I would have a PB in any event but lo and behold on Monday I sat down and rowed my fastest 5K EVER. I knew on Monday that it was my fastest for this ranking year, but I just realized today that it was my fastest ever. Hard to believe. I guess I'm getting back into better shape than I thought I was.

Yeah! Now if I could just do that in all the events.....

Dena

5K 24:48.8 (look for more PBs here soon...)

It must feel great to be improving on records you set in your 20's!

Lucky me, when I was rowing in my 20's, we didn't even have C2's. We had the old Gamut machine, and the scores (which I don't even remember) are totally irrelevant when compared to C2 scores. Since I started rowing a few years ago, it's easy for me to get PB's!

New one last night, 1K 3:50.0, a pretty good improvement over the 4:10 from May '05 (a month after wrist cast came off).
