Yay! That's great Dodger! I'm down some weight too, but have been off rowing since Friday.... a combination of sicknesses.....sinus infection, UTI, and a cold all at once! Think I'll try to do a really really slow 5k tonight though. We'll see, I got on for a slow one last night, and was dizzy from the sinus/ear thing and got off at 500 meters.

New 5K PB today, 20:04.8 avg @ 2:00.? and 25 spm. I strapped in for the first time in months. The intention was just to cut about .5 seconds off the avg/500 time but for some reason was able to cut more than 3 seconds off the old PB pace. I guess it was way overdue! 60 more Nonathlon points. The last 1K was a count to ten every 100m and try not to think about the remaining meters kind of survival thing. That really works for me, just focusing on the current 100m and counting the strokes.

Time for bed after a shower now....it's 1:20 AM.
Wooo hooo! Way to go duckies! We are now 42nd!

Snappyrower, I hope you are feeling better!

Congrats Carla! I can only dream of having times like that!

I had a pretty good week. After getting three PBs on Monday, I went on to have 4 more during the week. On Wednesday I did a 30 minute row of 5626 meters, on Thursday I did a 10K in 52:54.2, and on Friday I beat my Monday's 5k pb (by almost a full minute!) with a new pb of 25:39.8 and then followed by a 6k at 32:08.0. I know I can do much better on the 6k as the split time for that was higher than the split time for the 10K, but I was exhausted as I rowed a total of 16,489 m during that workout.

I have started using the pace boat on the PM3 and that really helps keep me motivated.

You're on a roll Kathi! Thanks for the well wishes. I'm doing a bit better....still kind of rough, but I got on the rower a bit ago and did 1526. Really slow, but i was totally winded and needed to get off. I think if I feel up to it I'll get on again later today and try to get some more meters in. Maybe I'll get up to your meters Kathi!

First of all - way to go ladies! There are some impressive numbers out there.
I'll never have the speed some of you girls have, but now I have something I've wanted for a long time.

One Million Meters!

I can't believe it finally happened. You girls have kept me going. And now, on to the next challenge! I signed up for a novice rowing class with the Baltimore Rowing Club. That ought to be a pretty funny sight. To be continued...

Signing off for the night - the Buffle

My goal is to get there before June 5!

QUOTE

I guess this is a personal best, heh, it’s my 1st 30 min row with 4808 meters, 03:07, 21 s/m.

Landlocked - Congratulations on your first 30 minute row! My first 30 minute row was 4642 meters. When I got off the rower I thought I was gonna die and told my husband that this machine kicks my butt. Funny though, every day I still say it kicks my butt, but somehow I find myself rowing six days a week!

QUOTE

Good heavens! Your advice has really helped with improving my technique. Also I realize I am still on a learning curve and soon my times will stop dropping so quickly, but I am enjoying it while it lasts!

QUOTE

You're on a roll Kathi!
