45k today. We've got great rowing weather. We had a big melt about a week ago, it turned to ice and now it's cold. So outdoor activities are next to impossible, but it's perfect for (indoor) rowing . Have a good weekend everyone. John.

Time for me to cut back some on the meters. It's been fun up until recently to see what kind of distance I could put in. This has bought back some memories for me. About 20 years ago a friend of mine and I ocean kayaked from Haines Alaska down to Seattle Wash. in 45 days. It was a great trip but the strain of day after long day took it's tole and I was glad to put up the paddle by the end. I'm starting to get that way now and I don't want to get turned off to this super activity. Plus I think about all of the other things that I've been neglecting, and well, time to move on. The training programs on Row Pro look interesting. Time to work on some speed again . I am going to try to still do a shorter morning row (along with the regular afternoon or evening row) and try to help out getting a team record month. John.

Sorry so long to post. I moved and was unable to row for a bit. Since I last posted, close to a month ago I guess, I have rowed 51633 meters that I have not posted up to the board. I am going to attempt to make the Christmas challenge, but have to row something like 60K plus a week to do it. Last year I had to stop at about 150,000 meters as I moved at that time! I really want to make it this year, so I will see. Congrats to all who are on their way, or to John, who has been an animal on the rower, who have made it. <br /><br />Wish me luck with being able to row that much, and work too! Am at work now and trying to keep up my motivation to row when I get home before I go to bed. <br /><br />Darren

Morning all,<br /><br />Dec 4th - 19km total for me today.<br /><br />1km warm-up + 18km (2:07/500m pace, 70% of MHR)<br /><br />I'm going to my first proper hockey game today, eh!<br /><br />Holiday Challenge: 81,000m rowed 119,000m to go.

Thanks Darren and welcome back! Gongrats on the Challenge Brian. I imagine that because of that heat wave you mentioned, you'll probably get the t-shirt (as opposed to the sweat shirt ?) I got one of the sweat-shirts after the blue moon row and it is quite nice. I rowed 6k today (feels strange doing short distances again, but kind of nice . I'm using a row pro program for the 2k. It's pretty brainless (suits me ) You just go at the pace and heart rate that comes up on the screen and watch yourself row. The workouts make sense, not as deadly as the Wolverine or Pete plan but a good combination of speed, strength and even some rest! There are four 2k races in 14 weeks. Has anyone else used the row pro training programs? Because of the distance I put in during the first part of the challenge it allowed me to go with the hardest plan. It's not great as far as putting in mega-k's but I guess that makes sense since it is a 2 k plan. My wife is using the 5k-6k plan. Other people seem to like those other plan's (wolv/pete) and I think some of the workouts are good, but there doesn't seem to be much in the way of recovery (at least I found that it was too much for my back (Pete's plan.) <br />enjoy the game Rob! Wait to row, hosers.<br /><br />We are now passing through <a href='http://www.mysudbury.ca/Tourism' target='_blank'>Sudbury</a> and if you look up to the North a little you will see my mom waving at us from my home town of Levack.<br /><br />Sudbury is of course noted for the mines.
