The 2000m is just quite a bit less fun, and after you've done one, I mean, you've still got to do something else to complete your workout for the day. Who wants to do that?

If you do a good strong power hour, that's your workout right there.

Working on race pacing. New PB 500m: 1:35.7 sr:30 SPI:13.3

Down from 1:37.3. Last time I went out too fast with a 1:31 split and crashed before the end with over a 1:40 split. This time I went 1:37.0, 1:34.5, 1:34.5, 1:35.5, 1:37.0. Just couldn't hang on for the last 100m

Hats off to the people who can maintain this power output for a 2k.
Thanks Maarten, I will give it a try.

Being a lwt, a 1:25 time would be very impressive. Of course, being able to put on the breaks at the right time is the key. Totally mental but a harder race for me to run because I feel so good at the beginning.

Either way, to cut another couple seconds off my time would just make my 2k time even more out of whack. Time to start working on that pesky endurance.

Steve

Added 1k to my PB: 3:24.9 down from 3:29.0.
Spent the first 600 on pace for a 3:19 but as seems to be the case, I can't seem to finish what I start. Although this way I seem to be testing my ability to endure pain.

I think before trying a 2k, I will work on my 5k and 10k...

Steve

New mark for 60:00. Improved from the 15529m that I did in April 2003 to 15599m this morning .

I think that I must have been inspired by fellow lightweight Ninthman's "good-ish" one hour average time that kicks my butt. It felt good (the PB, not the butt-kicking) and garnered 10 extra Nonathlon points.

Rick

Last wednesdayevening we did the marathon relay with a team of collegues from the gym at my work.
We did it in 2:07:27! That was 12 minutes faster than the time last year!
1:30.6/500 and 44 spm.

We (I) chose to start all with 15 strokes. After more than 1 hour we did 13 strokes. We ended up with 10 strokes each for the last part.

In my first serie i broke my PB for max pull and did 1:14/500. All my series i stayed under 1:20/500.
One man (also on-waterrower) on our team was 58 and rowed constantly 1:27/500. There were younger guys slower than him!
Thursdayevening if felt the muscle pain in my legs. And friday was better to stay on my chair because every time i got up, i felt my legs.

Next wednesday i join another team from another office to do it again. Love the pain......
