Had our first 2k test of the second semester today... 6:16:9, which I brought down from 6:24:0. Not to shabby, but I'm looking to beat 6:15:7 next weekend so I'll have all three army crew all time records. I was hoping to do it today, but if I get it next weekend I'll still be happy.

End of my "PB-week". Today 2k in 6:36:2. My old time was 6:40:2.
I died several times during this 2K and was constantly thinking of giving up. I always think of stopping on 500m, 1k and 2k. I never do, always continue and allways (except for one 500m in december) it's a PB.

The last 2k was during the EIRC in Amsterdam. I saved this attempt for my new age category.

Nice to see you here. There are too few Dutch guys here.
It's gonna take 7 years before we gonna race together in the same category

Lots of succes in Tilburg. I will not be there. I'm thinking of goiing to Nijmegen next month. There are also the shorter distances like 500 and 1000. I really hate this 2k now, it hurts so much.... But on the other hand, i kinda little bit like this pain....

20:46.7 for 6k yesterday. Not bad, it was at the end of a hard week of training -- can push it lower if I was rested.

Not a lot to brag about but I set 2 PBs this week.

Wed. 7,588m for 30m (1:58.6) SPM 24
Today HM 1:29:08.8 (2:06.8) SPM 23

..and now I am absolutely cream crackered, maybe because I decided to sprint the last 600m or so and finished at about 1:41 pace, resulting in a balletic dive off the seat at the end into a collapsed heap.

Currently training to do a marathon on the day of the London running marathon using the Concept 110k a week training guide. Took a week off to beat my HM PB and then up the training pace. Hoping to do at around 2:12 pace and beat my only previous attempt.

Is anyone planning to do a marathon on that day? Is there a thread on this or the UK forum where people are discussing this (excuse my ignorance if there is).
New 5k pb today: 17.00.7 (1:42.07 average split).

Try as I might coming down the stretch -- 36 spm sprint over the last 300, opening bars of Springsteen's "Born To Run" loud enough in my headphones to make my ears bleed and drown out my roaring arteries -- I couldn't find a measly goddamned .7 to get under 17 min flat. Which I'd very much wanted to do when I sat down....

To put this in perspective, that's .07 short of my goal for each of the 10 500m segments. Or roughly one eyeblink, or twitch, or shoulder shrug, or incrementally short drive, or tiny erg slide on the hardwood floor, or combination thereof over the distance.

Aargh!!! Double Aargh!!!! Gaaack!!!!

To quote the great Maxwell Smart, "Missed it by that much...."

Way to go, MSYDIR: to shatter a PB by 20 secs means you're doing a lot of things ight!

New 5k PB today, erged in anger at the 17:00.07 the day before yesterday and at hauling "redundant mass" around in general. 16:54.1.

I sweated off nearly 6 lbs of water during the warmup/cooldown and piece. If I only put 5 back on I'm ahead for the day....

Huge 6k PB!

This morning there was a junior national team 6k camp at my school, and I was lucky enough to row with some of those guys. Very impressive times, one with a 19:56 time! I rowed 23:14, beating the old PB of 23:46 ... so i feel very good right now. My next goal is to bulk up to 140 - 145, because I am only like 125-130. Good luck with everyone else!

New PB since turning LWT:

500m @ 1:37.3 30spm from 1:42.9.

My legs are shaking bad....I think I could have done slightly better since I had the monitor set to cals/hr and I had to switch it.

Lesson learned, check the monitor before you start.

Steve
